27 Dec, Bharatpur TEIYEI Skate Crew, established in 2012, is a skateboarding crew to enhance, motivate and encourage youth through skateboarding in Nepal. Since then alot activities has been done, such as meetups, games, competitions and reward programs so far. Just in couple of years, the skate scene had grown to a next height and there are a lot skaters shredding these days.
However there is still no fixed spot where skaters can practice tricks and improve themselves. Skateboarding is has been listed in the olympics since 2020 Tokyo Olympics and the main goal is promote skate scene in Chitwan as well as in Nepal. The competitiveness of the skaters has grown to bigger heights and wide range of people are encouraged everyday to skate.
This event was supported and sponsored by Hype Mountain Nepal , a skateboard producing company, focused to promote nepali youngster. The event was participated in by more than 30 skaters from chitwan.
The winner of the competition was Sugam Gurung (Senior- Game of Skate) and Fichyo Ghale(junior-Game of Skate) .Sugam Gurung (winner-)says ,”As a skater, skateboarding has changed my perspective of life we battle with our tricks everyday and the day we land our tricks we feel extremely happy same goes for our life we struggle with our life and when we get what we want we feel happy. Despite living in the modern era of cutting edge technology, our society still can’t accept girl as players or true sportsmen who can stand on own feet.”
After winning this prestigious reward, I thought I am on my way to achieve my goals. I am able to stand here today, and I would owe this to my beautiful mother,”says Fichyo Ghale.
